The vocabulary on a sportsbook screen
Whichever Winbox sports provider you open, its screens tend to lean on the same four terms. These are general definitions, not a description of any provider's current odds, limits or markets.
- Event
- The fixture itself: one side or competitor against another, at a set time.
- Market
- A category of bet within an event. One event can carry several markets at once.
- Selection
- The specific option chosen within a market.
- Odds display
- How the price is shown: decimal, fractional, moneyline or another format. Often a provider or account setting rather than fixed.
